GWO database WINDA to be activated October, 17th
October 12, 2016
This notification is important for you if you are involved with the Basic Safety training of the Global Wind Organisation (GWO)
On October 17th, 2016, GWO will activate the WINDA database in which all delegates will have to register. Also, all companies and training providers involved in the wind industry are required to do so. Once registered in WINDA, it is possible for all registered delegates as well as registered training providers to search for GWO-training related data, such as certificate validity and the status of a training provider.
What does this mean in practice?
This means that registration in WINDA is necessary as of October 17th, 2016 for all GWO courses planned. For delegates in a GWO-training, this is mandatory. Without a WINDA registration participating in a GWO course is not possible.
Where can you register?
As of October 17th, 2016, you can register here. It is important for delegates to register with their private e-mail address so that with a change of employment the WINDA database will still be accessible.
What do you get in return?
The WINDA ID is a unique number on which all completed GWO-courses are registered. Because all involved parties can have access to WINDA, hardcopy certificates are not required by the GWO anymore. Contractors, however, might still require a hard copy certificate. This can be printed directly from WINDA. As a training provider, we will provide stickers for the PSL, so quick validation of the GWO-training status of a delegate will remain possible on site.
What are the financial consequences?
Registration in WINDA as a delegate is free of charge.
For the registration of a successful delegate in WINDA, we (Safe Site) are required to pay a registration fee to the GWO. This is a prerequisite in the criteria for training providers. At this point, this fee is € 10,-. These costs will be accounted for in the training fee.
This means that pricing of all GWO BST courses will be increased with €10,- per registered delegate beginning on October 17th, 2016.
